..... well I know that some of the brackets are different based on the IM your running. But as for the throttle cable it self, are they the same.
I was looking on hondaautomotiveparts.com but couldn't seem to find the right picture diagram for the throttle cables.

welll i heard from another member that any 92-00 civic throttle cables are the same part # except for the 96-00 DX-d16y7 cables..

can anyone confirm?

 

NO not all D-series throttle cables are the same.

Example, the D16Y7 (96 LX) takes a fairly long one while the D16Y8 (96 EX) takes a shorter one because of the throttle placement.

Someone also mentioned that the automatic and manual cars take a slightly different fitting (for the EK chassis, 96-00 Civics). (no idea why, nor can I personally verify this.)

 

does anyone know if a 97 ex cable will work on my vx eg?

What manifold are you running? Stock? Then yes i believe it will fit. You might need the ex throttle bracket though.

 

running vx swap in my eg sedan. i think i need the vx/cx throttle "stay bracket"
