Default h22 in my ek, was running fine, now issues, clutch related?

Okay

I finished my swap and it was running 100% until today.

I noticed everytime I blipped the throttle i would feel a rumbling/vibration in the throttle cable. At first I thought nothing of it then I realized I could not hit VTEC. It got progressively worse throughout the day.

Flash to 30 minutes ago (around 1:30am EST) my car won't go into gear, if you try to force it in with the clutch, it just dies. I feel a VERY hard vibration coming when I rev it a little bit. I can tell it's not in the engine because when I was driving and I let off the throttle the noise would disappear regardless of RPM (as long as I was moving).

I believe it's the throwout bearing, however I could be wrong. I want to know what I could be dealing with before I go and rip everything apart.

Thanks.

I would have to agree that it is something clutch related. Back when I used to have my GSR swapped EG, my ACT was going out and when I tried to jam it into gear from a dead stop, my car also died. A few miles down the road, one of the springs in my pressure plate popped out.

I would say that if the car won't go into gear anymore, make sure that all the shift cables and everything are connected properly before taking the transmission off, although I think that is what you will end up doing in the end.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice.

I definitely think it's related to the clutch, not the transmission.

But if it's the clutch, in neutral, would I be able to feel the vibration? I'm thinking yes because the flywheel turns correct?

Also, is it possible to take the transmission off without taking out the whole motor?

I believe its possible but just want to confirm.

The is not enough room to clear the front beam you could probably remove it but
its gonna be easier to pull the motor

you can get it out without pulling the motor but it sucks. i ruined my fender from leaning into it so hard.

Check your fluids make sure you have no leaks in your clutch line. Next check the tranny and see if anything has gone awry there..

took off the tranny today.

Everything looks fine, the pressure plate was a bit loose.

Could that prevent the car from going into gear while it is started?

That's not good. Your using a prelude slave cylinder right? The civic slave cylinders are known to cause clutch problems (not strong enough).

If you had a civic slave cylinder only one bolt hole would line up.

Is it a new or used clutch? Did you properly flush the clutch line to remove the air?

Then i have a prelude cylinder.

Brand new clutch.

Yes we bled the clutch line properly.

When I push the clutch in, I can visibly see the slave cylinder pushing.

As long as your linkage is hooked up correctly it sounds like a possible tranny issue.
