Default Need idea's for internals, b18A

Just got '90 integra for $160. Took the head off today and number 4 pistion hit the valves. I'm on a tight budget but i'd like to just put all new pistions and rods in. Also i think my block sleave may be cracked. Any body got any ideas? Could pick up some hp'd with oem pistons or rods, for example gsr pistions and rods.

Well, if your cylinder is cracked, and your on a budget, just pick up a block at your local yard, making sure the cylinders are in better condition.

Performance wise, the B18A responds well to compression and cams, namely some PR3 or P30 pistons which require no mods to fit, and some Crower 404's for cams. You can use your stock rods, but have ARP rod bolts installed. Since your on a tight budget, go with ACL bearings and Hastings pinston rings. You will need upgraded valve springs and for the B18A's they are really reasonable in price. Some vendors on this site have great deals and the RM springs can be used with stock retainers. Tune this beast and you will be surprized what you get out of her.

I got my PR3 pistons for $60 used, 404's for $200 used, Hastings rings for $52, ACL bearings for $80. All I need is to buy the OEM head gastket and oil pump, and a socketed, basemapped ECU for my mods and a local machine shop that won't hold my head hostage for to long. Good luck man.

I just read somewhere that if i would put in B18b cams i'd pick up the extra 10 hp that the B18a lacks. Is this true...i don't have to worry about lobes being any bigger or valves hitting pistions do i?

you won't get 10 hp. but you'll get a few. you could probably get some for near free though. no clearance issues.
