98 hatch, stock manual tranny. What kind of fluid do i use? I've heard regular 5w30 and I've also heard gear oil. Suggestions?
go to honda and ask for manual tranny fluid, when you say 5w30 are you referring to engine oil? cause you can't use that in your tranny

Yeah engine oil, i've heard from many people that regular 5w30 engine oil is what's used in honda trannys. I'm not planning on using gear oil, that didnt seem right to begin with.

you can use 5w30 but i recommend using the Honda MTF. It was made for your HOnda trans so might as well use the proper stuff. and you will be fine
