anodizing is a chemically bond process that seeps the die into the metal, hence why it is so tough. Make sure you do your research with the shop before hand tho, my buddies have been trying to find a good shop, a lot of there colors such as blue, and red have come out blotchy.

ano- needs acids to bond the color to the metals. and an oven capable of doing this process. i had a tough time doing paintball guns a few yrs back. but it worked if you take the time to learn the process. but the hardest part is getting the chemicals and acids needed to do that process.. good-luck if you have access to what ya ned if not. really lookin into diffrent companies. that specialize in ano work.
thanks for all the help, im not looking to do it myself and its hard to say if anybody in Nova Scotia can do it, im going to make a post on our local board to see if i get any luck.
