first make sure the motor is 00...look for a cat...purge control solenoid since its jdm...ask him if the ecu is US or JDM...look for check engine light..

you will not pass smog. in order to be able to go to a smog station, you're car will have to be BARed first.

the motor needs to be the same year or newer than the car it's going into.

if the motor is a jdm itr.....good luck getting it BARed. it can be done, but there is a thread floating around here with a list of stuff that needs to be aqcuired....and it the list totals around $700-800.

most of the people i know with jdm itr swaps just pay someone to smog their cars illegally.

search around, you'll find all the info you're looking for. all these questions have been asked before.

above mentioned car is my brother's for sale.

yes, you will not pass smog. the tailpipe comes out clean, but it will fail the visual.

all smog equipment is hooked up, but there are two CEL's to be fixed before it is brought in. with the p2t ecu, the knock sensor and ckf sensors need to be worked on.

to be legit legit, you'd need to get it BAR'd. to get it smogged, you need the stuff above.
