Default clutch / transmission

my 97 honda prelude is giving me a funny feeling in my clutch foot. when i press the clutch with the engine off and while in neutral the clutch feels smooth like it should under my foot. as i'm driving and pushing the clutch to shift gears, it doesn't feel smooth anymore. it feels sort of gritty and rough. soon as i put it back in neutral or if i'm driving less than 15 mph, it's smooth. can anyone help me diag. this? do i need a new clutch? thanks

Could be the throwout bearings I would imagine. That or the slave cylinder, but I'd put my money on the throwout bearing.
