Default clutch slipping

When i shift form a gear at high rpm the clutch seems to be slipping. But when im in a gear and get on it , it doesn't seem to slip. its not a lot of slipping its for like 2-3 seconds of slipping then it seems to grab. Its a 93 Ls. Do i need a new clutch?, or is it something i can adjust, or add fluid? thanks

If the clutch is slipping, the material on the disc is most likely worn.

Clutches are dry, the only fluid associated with the tranny is in the gearbox.

You can pick up an Exedy OEM replacement clutch for under $200.

If you have a cable clutch you can adjust the little black **** down by the end of the cable where it hooks to the trans. You may be able to get a little more life out of it but yea your clutch is probably close to being done.

u might want to try and adjust the clutch cable first. Since its a 93 it is still a cable trans, does ur pedal have about an inch of freeplay before u feel resistance? it should if not then adjust so that it does. A exedy stage 1 clutch is just a step above stock and with bolt on such as I/H/E u will be fine but if u spray or have cams or both u will need a stronger clutch. I myself have a CM stage 3 and LOVEEEEEE it, grabs real nice but the pedal feels just as stock as it can be. I love letting people drive my car and tell them its a stage 3 and when they feel the pedal they dont beleive me, until they stall that is. Im not saying its a hard clucth to daily drive since I daily drive it. Everyone that drives my car dont stall after the first time, just takes getting use to. ACT, CM, Exedy are the brands I would stick with but only the exedy stage 1, dont get anything with a pucked disk for the street, it will be too harsh and way overkill for the setup, use a full face disk. OK wow thast a long paragraph

drive in first gear normally.
when shifting to 2nd, goto 5th.

if your motor revs up freely, clutch is slipping.
if your motor bogs your clutch is grabbing.

when its slipping alot your going to hurt the flywheel if you dont replace the clutch soon.
