Default car died, not normal, need help asap!

i was on my way home, about 10 miles from and went to pass a guy, when i heard a loud pop and then my car started sputtering, wouldnt build boost and then finaly died.. no ic pipes are blown off or anything like that

the car had been feeling kinda sluggish all day but i kinda brushed it off because i didnt get any sleep last night so i thought maybe it was me

i have spark and fuel, but all i can get it to do is sputter... the motor moves and turns over freely and i'd actuly had it started once for about 30 seconds, but after that i killed the battery tryin to get it back up

so everything im pretty sure is good

turbo i think is in good shape, HG is in good shape from everything i can tell, fuel pump is workin, fairly certin the injectors are fireing because i had it started once..

any idea's are welcome, i need to get this figured out asap because im supposed to go on a road trip in two weeks O_o

Sound like you lost compression in one of your cylinders at least that what my pop was when mine blew, Just do a compression check and see where your at if that comes out fine then on to the next

i cant get it started at all, i had it running for about 30 seconds after it died then killed the battery tryin to get it to start again.. maybe after sitting for a bit it'll start easier

even if not i can listen to each cylinder while cranking to see if anything sounds wrong.. but if anything was that badly damage i'd think a compression test would show so wouldnt it?

nah this is normal for me, i never get to bed before 7am plus when my car doesnt run or something is wrong with it i tend not to sleep very well or at all till i fix it

in a way im hopein the motor isnt blown cause i really dont wanna shell out for another... but i kind am hopein cause i found a good deal on a sleeved and built motor for a decent price and this would give me an exscuse to get it, lol

but hopefully i get this one fixed for now.. i'll post up numbers later today, hopefully the numbers wont be too bad from doing a cold reading..

well i always see people sayin that as long as there within about 10psi of eachother then its normaly good.. is that true or no?

also couldnt the cold reading have to do with that low number?

im trying to rule out the motor entirely so i dont have to worry about it

found my problem, its the distributor, the rotor caught yesterday and tore apart inside of it... aparently there was some play in the shaft that comes off the cam and it caught, any way to tighten her up or do i need a new distributor?
