NEED HELP ASAP 92 VX never starts in the rain!!! NEED HELP ASAP SUPPOSED TO PICK UP A DATE!!!
It seems like evertime my car has sat in the rain it doesnt want to start. Ive been told its possibly the main relay because moisture gets in between the sauder and causes a disturbance not allowing the fuel pump to prime itself. could this be true? i need help ASAP because im supposed to be out on the road picking up a date!

You might want to borrow a friends car, cause it would not be cool if your car did not start on your date

once she gets started she is fine unless its raining really hard and i go thru a big puddle which happened once...the car just totally stalled out on me and i pushed it in a parking garage left it there for a half a hour and it was fine...the puddle wasnt that big but i guess it was big enuff to make my car stall...so much for this car being a daily driver

Take note next time it wont start in the rain, listen when you click your key foward (just to the on position, not start) for the fuel pump kicking on. If it does than the problem is not your main relay. Also remember your three basics, Fuel + Spark + Air = a running motor. If you hear the fuel pump pull your plugs and have some crank it while you check for spark. If no spark you have something wrong with your ingnition system, I'd prolly check all the spark plugs to make sure it wasnt just a couple that werent getting spark. Then I'd check the distributor for moisture, or just switch it out with a friends.

Could be moisture getting in down by the ecu causing problems. There was a service bulletin about water getting in in the passanger kick panel area.

That's what i'm thinkin'... Especially if going through big puddles causes the car to bog or die. The seal on the dist. cap could be bad.

...unless the rubber seal/gasket around the dizzy cap is missing. I bought a cheap *** cap for my integra and didn't notice it had no gasket. Exact same symptoms as you bud. I put that gasket in (******* $9 from the dealership... ) and never had a problem in the rain again.

Re: (Unsivil_audio)
when i turn the car in the on position i can hear the fuel pump prime itself. so i guess its not the fuel pump...when i try and get the car it cranks it just sounds like its not getting a spark. im going to replace the spark plugs today and check out whats going on with the distributor and see if there is any moisture in there...and no i do not have a CAI...the car is totally stock. im going to have to figure out this problem sooner or later because when winter comes its going to suck i dont wana have to be hoping a ride or riding my track car around in the winter.
