Aux Input on 2006 Civic LX Sedan?
Hey guys,
My first time here. I'm wondering if there is an Auxillary Input on the back of the factory stereo on the new 2006 Civic LX sedan.
I know that it is standard in the EX and coupe models in the front, but is there any chance that there is one in the back of my unit (LX sedan)? If not, what's the best option to get one?
Please advise. Thanks!
Bret

Bret,
I've been struggling with this issue, too. I purchased a 2006 Civic LX, and am looking for the most cost effective way to get the signal off of my iPod into the Honda OEM radio. What I've found is that you can buy a Honda factory aux input kit that I believe will duplicate what the EX comes with. It is mounted immediately forward of the shifter in the little storage well. A cable runs from the input jack up to a 6-pin connector which seems to be just waiting for this addition in a wiring harness. I was able to get the official Honda installation instructions from this site: hondapartsdeals.com Before I make this purchase I'm going back to my Honda dealer and look at the installation on an EX, and also verify that I can get a cable that will run from my iPod to this Aux Input Jack and function in the radio.

As a follow-up, I purchased the Aux Input Jack kit (p/n 08A60-SNA-100) for $75.39 including tax & shipping from my local Honda dealer. Also purchased a 12" long cable from Radio Shack that runs from the top of the iPod to the Aux Input Jack (about $5). I probably spent less than an hour installing it (the next time it would take me less than a half hour, but I was being very careful). I will have to power the iPod with the Aux power jack, and the only thing I can control with the radio itself is the volume, but I'm quite satisfied with the results and the cost was considerably less than the Apple/Honda product that lists for $250+, plus installation (which would be much harder for me to do than this Aux Jack hook-up).
