race questions???
hey i have a stock 2000 accord ex coupe 4cyl and i was wondering what is the safest octane gas i can run on the car for drags... will it cause any damage if i put octane booster?
around a track around my way theres a pump that has i think 103 oct or 105 i cant remeber lol but it makes my car run really good tobad its like $4.75 a gallon lol but if you taking it to the drag the best to use is 93+ dont want nothing to low u kno 89 is a possible but you always want the best

it's gonna help very little, no, you wouldn't do any harm if you don't use it 24-7

yup
the f23 is designed to run best on 87. car will be more effecient, and possibly make MORE power on 87 than mid or "super" grade gas

i actually only got a gallon or two to balance it out. yeah RIGHT thats like $2523439284723 for a full tank lol. plus i got a test pipe which im planning to take off. it was kinda scary when a few flams came out i was like uhh ohh thats not healthy but then the car ran a little smoother its almost like but a gallon of oct. booster. lol

hmm im not sure about this when i fill up on 87 and i floor the gas or i shift a little too early you can hear a lil pop noise iuno why but when i put 93 it runs alot cleaner. why could that be so? could it be because i got performance wires? with ngk plugs?
i always thought the higher the grade the better and more efficient you will run and get a few more milage and will last longer?

nope it's the other way around. higher octane takes longer to burn than lower octane gas. you're wasting your money.

not to mention more ignition timing which helps make lots more power.

I'm stuck using 93 for now. After this JET package, my car really does crap out if I use 87. With 93, it's just happy as can be! (minus my clutch incident)
ooooh... I feel a new post coming on!

Agree'd. There is no reason to run higher octane on a virtually stock engine. All you will be doing is wasting money. The higher the octane, the higher temperature required to burn the fuel. No special extra horsepower ingredients.
Octane is a lot like shoes. (WHAT!) If you wear a size 10, but you buy a size 13 instead. You're actually getting more shoe, but if it doesn't fit, it's not doing you any good.

it could be, there's a dyno on a magazine way back.
they use a 98 v6 accord, the run it twice, one with 87 and one with 91 octane, and 91 is loosing power/torque vs. 87
low compression engine doesnt require high octane gas, it's only gonna build up carbon deposit
