I wanted to know what kind of race gas are guys running 500+WHP on the street? At the track I use C16 but at $14 a gallon it get very expensive to run on the street.
I was wondering if I went with a different gas like CAM2 @ $6.70 a gallon which is 112 octane I would think this can support at least 25 - 30lbs of boost? How much power are guys making in this type of fuel???

Or stick with 93 octane and run meth injection. What do you guys recommend???

i've used pump 93 on almost all builds over 400 with no problems... u do the math then

I'm at 19lbs of boost on 93 Octane which should be close to 500whp. I'm ready to increase the boost level but I was wondering for the street if I could go with a different fuel or just go with METH injection and be safe at 25 lbs on the street...

run pure alcohol injection if u want why would u even want more than 500 whp on the streets? are you going to a burn out contest?

LOL, I have boost by gear and with my current setup in 3rd and 4th gear the car hold traction very well with higher boost levels.

I do not drive the car a lot and was thinking of just putting in the C16 but were talking at least a $100 a day to drive the car on this gas...

you have to pay to play, if you want to run big hp on the streets your going to need some kind of good gas imo. cam2 sounds like a good choice... should be plenty of octane to avoid detonation and whatnot at that boost/ power level... then agian I am no tuner so you may be able to get by on even less like 100/ 104 unleaded.

meth injection is another option and has worked very well for a few evo guys, gn guys, etc that I know locally. they are making over 500whp on 93/ meth, on the streets. I just also have seen these pumps fail too, they start to leak and dont pressurize properly or something... next thing you know your picking up piece with a pooper scooper. EDIT: and to add make sure you get a good quality system. preferably one that incorporates some kind of warning lights or whatnot into it for when the system is not functioning/ pressurizing properly.

I definately am not of a fan of pushing big power on pump (esp. since 93 has been droped to 91 at over half that stations here)... just something about fuel that looks like it is brownish ****. think I am joking, put some in a fuel jug and look for yourself... I have and thats what it all looks like locally.

That is why I'm scared to go with Meth injection!!
I found a local gas station that sells CAM2 that is 112 octane $6.70 a gallon. I will try this fuel out and see what I can make on it for the street.

Yeah I am too... maybe its just me but I have to much invested not to just run a good gas, its piece of mind at a little extra cost for me. I am too nervous about meth injection although I have seen it used very sucessfully in a few different applications. Like I said I have seen pumps fail (2 to be exact and both times it resulted in engine damage) and it makes me unsure about them.

Just my personal thoughts though and I am not saying that it cannot be used without a problem, I just dont need anything more to keep an eye on.

I would consider what you have readily available locally, what will have enough octane to keep you from detonation/ preignition (tuners can fill in this blank), and is still somewhat reasonable on the price (well more reasonable that 14$ gallon c16).

Agian just my thoughts... I am sure others will chime in.

I do have C16 locally and CAM2.
C16 is 118octane and CAM2 is 112octane..
I would think 112octane is good enough for 25 psi but I will not know until I tune at this boost level and take good caution for detonation etc

Very interesting, but how many people mix this?
It looks to me that you will have the mix the SAME every time you go to fill your car up to have the same octane rating as the last.

True, Do you use this and how much pwer are you making on it?
What ratio do you use and what pump gas are you using with this?

No but I know that in the 80 formula 1 cars ran on like 87 or so % tolulene.
I plan on doin some experiments.
