Default JDM GSR and Type R speed govner

JDM Type R instrument cluster reads 180 km/h witch is like 110 or so? are they limited to 110 or can they go faster? or would you need a USDM gsr or type r ecu ?

If you put a JDM cluster in a US car then no it wont have a speed limiter. The speed limiter is controlled by the JDM ECUs only, not the cluster.

will a USDM gsr ecu work well on a jdm gsr swap? or would it be better to chip the jdm ecu? I don't want the moter to have less performance with the usdm ecu, or does it make a diffrence!!! thanks-a-bunch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jdm ecu's are governed at around 128 or so mph.

You won't hit the speed limiter on public roads or on most racetracks.

If you're planning to run on a road course with an especially long straight, then look into removing the limiter.

Until then, don't worry about it. I've been driving around with a speed limiter for months, including two track days without a problem.
