GSR swap - stock ecu - speed limiter?
So my GSR swap is running great now after a few problems.
Weird thing though, yesterday, while on a particularly empty stretch of freeway, I realized that at ~115mph or so the car very abruptly looses power until it gets back below ~115mph. I know I really shouldn't be going that fast, and seldom do, but I want to know if this is normal....
TIA

Yes it is normal. That is the speed limiter cut off and a chip will solve that if you need to take it off.

Damn, how can I tell if my ecu is USDM or JDM?

So then the question is: are there any other differences betwen USDM and JDM ecus?
I have a USDM motor btw...

JDM ecu will be a small case type, while the UDM is a larger type (like all other USDM OBDI ecus)
also USDM barcode will read 37820-P72-A01 or A00 or C00 or C01 or A02 or variation of that.
JDM do suck big time, I dynoed two different motors stock for stock JDM to USDM you you will see about 10-15whp and 10lb.ft of torque difference all in the low to mid range 9up to 7k rpm).

Damn, I'll check the serial number. If I do have a JDM ecu hopefully I can find a USDM OBDI P72...
