How to: Take door panels off 06 Civic
This may be totally useless to anyone, but I took my door panels off to tint my windows on my SI and thought I would help anyone out that may do this in the near future as well...
Start by taking off the plastic piece just above the door panel...

Next pull open the door handle and you will notice a removable plate... Push in the small tab while pulling out on the piece.

Now you will notice a phillips screw, and in the corner is a plastic clip..remove both

Next you will notice two small round holes in the bottom part of the handle area on the door panel.... These are two phillips screws... remove them

Now look underneith this piece, you will notice an area to pry the colored handle off...gently pry it off

At the end of where the blue rope ties to the door panel, there is a phillips head screw, remove it

Now you just need to PULL.... and I mean PULL, the clips are very tight and takes a good yank to get it off.
And viola your door panel is off...now you can replace the speaker or follow below and learn how to remove your window...
To remove your window after the door panel is off all you need is a 10mm socket and an extension, and something to cut through the thin dust covering inside the door panel....
Start by locating this hole

Once you locate that hole cut a slit into the thin material to get behind that area. Also cut a small slit in the large open area to the side of the hole...

After the slits are cut, you will have to raise/lower the window until you see a 10mm bolt in each slit... There is 2 per window. Remove these two 10mm bolts then gently pull up on the window and it will come out.

Now would be a great time to work your magic and tint away....

this is 30% tint, but with the dark interior, it looks more like 20% in these pics... The pics make it look darker than it is....
Here's a pic that turned out kinda neat....

That's all for now boys and girls....

Not going to get into it on another thread. I work at TINTMASTERS, we have won national awards for cleanest tint jobs, and everyone thinks we are nuts cause we remove the windows (that roll up/down), from the car to tint... however there will NEVER be a tint job that comes out of this shop with a light gap, piece of lint (we will keep redoing it until it is near flawless, or major dirt.
What does your comment have to do with how to pull a door panel off or this thread..... At no point in the title does it say "This is how you tint the windows".... I'm tryin to help people out, keep this thread clean of drama PLEASE

Nice write up, door panels always seem to be a pain somehow. This should def help those who need to remove them for whatever reason.

I do have some plans.... I think my first set of wheels for this will be something that looks like the 05-06 RSX wheels... Borbet makes a wheel that looks similar and is priced right for my budget right now...
17 x 7 or 17 x 8 (my choice) and under $200 a wheel...

I hope to get volks down the road, but right now I am gonna concentrate on performance.... But for surely the wheels GOTTA GO!

do you mean that in a good/bad/or ugly way??? I just came across these, and to be honest I know NOTHING about the brand, other than they look like the late DC5 wheel and I like that style...

Yea I am not a big fan of those stockers on the Si, just my opinion but I think it will look even better with different wheels.
I always thought Borbet was a good brand. No solid proof but I have considered getting some of them before. Those look pretty good to me, although later on Volks would look very nice.

hes right though. That is a PROPER tint job. No edges. The idea with tinting the window is to make it LOOK like it came that way from the factory. Note: all the mexican trucks with purple, bubbled rear window film.
I also don't want to stray off topic, but can someone tell me how the hell to remove the shift **** on an '06 EX? I tried to simply unscrew it, but that doesn't seem to be the way. Trying to replace it with something smaller and better looking. Thanks--Brian
I think theres a screw you undo, then you twist it counterclockwise. Yeah, takes a good bit of muscle, ya gotta twist it pretty firmly. If yours is bigger than the 96 civic, wanna sell it to me?
Yeah, I'll sell it to you if it's what you need. I used to have a '96 Civic a few years ago, and if I remember correctly the ***** are similiar design, but the '06 version is bigger. Check into it and let me know, it may be easier for you to just order one from a dealer or something. I'm in NorCal, nor sure where you are--Brian
