obd2 is not programmable. obd1 allows you to qither run a chipped ecu or a programmable ecu.

Yep, Honda wasn't nice to us with there version of OBD2 a or b. It's like pretty much unusable for tuning. The problem is though, if you live in an emmisions state, OBD1 won't pass for a 96 or newer car.

Luckily, we can get waivers after spending 250 bucks to "fix" whats wrong with our ECU's and mine just can't be figured out lol.

So ob1 is better but the only flaw is that it won't pass smog for cars that are 96 and up?

No man, you misunderstood me, HONDA's OBD2 a and b can't be reprogrammed. They didn't do a full OBD2 upgrade from what I am told, they did the bare minimums to cut cost and the program just doesn't work with aftermarket stuff. If you noticed, as soon as the K series cars came out, Kpro was right behind it.

Other manufacturers like Ford and GM have the full monty from the get go. LS1 edit for instance (which will work on a vette) is a badass program. Honda cars just can't be tuned in OBD2 form until the 01 (I think) models.
