what are signs of.........
pistons and rods going out because i think mine are giving out on b18b. on cold starts the timing belt make a relly wierd noise like if it was soming lose inside then gose away. it's kinda hard to explain the noise. any advice would help thanks.
Smoke, if the rings are giving out they are going to be letting oil into the combustion chamber, and that will cause some blue/black smoke. That isn't the only thing that will create smoke though.
ummmm.... if your pistons and rods were to "go out", you would have a lot more trouble and more sounds then just something loose inside. from what it sounds like, you probably need a new timing belt. its has slack in it when cold, so makes a lot of noise, but once it get a little heat from the motor, it tightens up, and gets quieter. lets go with timing belt. or if its a new belt, then adjust your tensioner.
thanks guy's just making sure because today i had a mechanic tell me that my bottom end internals are going out because he head the sound from the outside with the hood down. I kinda had a feeling he was wrong but was'ent sure.
