Default HID Problem

Hi guys, I just got a set of Caddilac Escalade HIDs with balasts. I hook it up to the low beams of my car, and when I turn on the lights, the balast makes a loud continuous beep and the hid starts changing colors. I take it off quickly before anything happens. I think that the bulbs are gonna blow if I leave it on. What could be the problem? By the way, my car is a 99 civic cx. all hid experts please help me out

you mean the HIDs act like HIDs!????????

They're supposed to do that, chatch. Do some research before you make a purchase next time.

Are they suppose to make a continuous beep and then change to a pinkish color?

You're right, They charge up to a yellowish color. I thought that they were suppose to be blue. I think they're 4600k i thought it was 6000k.

Oh and should I wire up a fuse to these? If so what amperage?

ok. when you hook up the power you have to leave it on for about 30 seconds or so. when they finish warming up the color should have stopped changing and the sound should die down a little bit.

it's normal. you want to set up a relay system so that when you turn on the low beams, the hid pulls it's power straight from the battery.

I have two relays setup with both balasts pulling power directly from the batter with their own dedicated power wire. Both power wires have inline fuses. I believe the fuses are 10 or 15 amps. I'm using the cylinder type of fuses.
