So it won't start now....great, i left a ground off for 2 days, expletive!.

Well i did my valve cover gasket set like 2 days ago, and the whole time i forgot to hook up the valve cover ground and it was left off. So anyways it acted funny with a hesitation so i turned around and went back home, everything was fine. Now when i go out their like i did just 15 minutes ago, the positive on the battery sparks once when i try to turn it over, and it does NOT turn over at all...it's just blank with nothin. I THINK my starter is dead because of this, im not totally sure but it is annoying having a car that has a problem almost everyday. So a recap for everyone.
1.It's blank when i turn the key, no rotation or nothing, i guess it's my starter im not totally sure but that sucks if it is.
2.the ground is hooked back up now but i think i fryed something, who knows.
3. my battery is fine because i also tryed my other and it did the same damn thing...
4.all connections/grounds are FINE, expletive.

i had this problem before and to this day i regret getting the starter before you go through he hassle of either buying new or rebiulding it check the starter solenoid it should be on the wall having the negitive wire going through it befor reaching anthing else

1. The negative goes to the square fuse box under the hood on the passenger side, it's fine, and so are ALL the fuses.
2. The positive goes to the positive on the battery and the other half goes threw to the side of the starter, then below it is a starter solenoid clip on the side, which is also fine.
3. It has to be either i burnt out the starter or it's just toast along with the positive battery cable, unless it could have just fucked my main relay up altogether which is like under the drivers side left part of the dash right??, i forgot where it was.
4 This is ******* annoying and i Don't have money for a starter right now, not even a used one.

the main relay is under the dash, to the left of the fuse box
when you turn your key to the on position you should hear a slight buzzing
i beleive the starter solenoid is on the starter

Thats whats wierd is i don't recall hearing the fuel pump come on, so what if it does not?, do i have to change my main relay to get it working again??. Their is no F***** fuse up under the dash on the fuseblock for the fuel pump on the 92-95 models like their is for the 88-91 models, so wtf?. Also yeah the starter solenoid is that little clip on the side that pops on it, which is BTW fine and hooked up, so thats what led me to believe since it's just blank when i turn the key in the ignition that i killed the starter i guess.
i don't believe it's because of the ground, the engine is grounded in several other places, including the ground to tranny and to the starter. it's all a common body of metal, plus the valve cover is pretty much isolated anyway via the gaskets. nothing is actually connected to it.
if the battery connection was sparking, i'd say it's a bad connection. remove the battery connections and clean them with a wire brush/sandpaper/file, whichever you choose. put them back on, try it.
if the starter just clicks(no crank), clean the +12v connection to the starter and when you try to start, have someone measure the battery voltage. i'd say 11+ volts when starting is fine.
when you check to see if the fuel pump starts, make sure it's quiet around you, turn off radio/blower etc. and hold the door switch so you get no beeping. turn the key to pos. 2 and listen for it, should make a light (humm/buzz) sound, then click and the sound stops
edit: another way to rule that it's a starter connection or starter problem is pop-starting(if 5spd). try it if you know how, that's how i diagnose my problems(don't do too often tho)

if your positive is sparking when your trying to crank you most likely have a bad connection on the ground side. what does it do? just click? try grabbing some jumper cables. sounds to me like theres not a clean ground

Pfft all the grounds are brown with dirt if not coated in oil or some ****, lol. I got a few ideas now guys im gonna try tommorow and thanks for the idea/help, seems like i lose all sense of my mech experience sometimes. If i still can't solve it i'll tell you all how it goes tommorow, so that and my negative almost looks torn and corroded a LITTLE bit...so idk but i did forget and leave my heater on maxium when i was trying to start it.
check the resistance in the wires going to the starter solenoid and check for contuinty of the wires chances are you burnt a wire somewhere...check the voltage of your battery also if you can...
you can remove your starter and get it test at a kragens, shuckers, napa, autozone or where you can...sounds like to me you burnt a wire but its just a guess...if you have a buddy you can test to see if your starter is gettin voltage from the red battery cable to the starter solenoid if you get...if you have voltage on the ground side then you have an open somewhere some pics would good too...later

Em...im narrowed it down, im dumb, lol im j/p it was actually my battery cables, i guess. They were all fine that previous day, so i don't see why they would cause it to do that when alls i did was take em off and clean em a little bit and then put them back on, not that they were all that corroded ANYWAYS.
