Default 93 Accord exr - Auto transmission slipping - Lucas transmission fix?!?!

Hey guys,

So I'm starting to stress over what I think will be a very expensive fix. I drive an automatic 93 accord exr with a rebuilt tranny. The motor was replaced about 1.5 years ago at which point, transmission fluid was replaced.

My third gear is slipping, but only when push the car. While driving at a regular pace, it seems to be fine. Only when the car down shifts or during fast accelleration... third seems to slip.

I've been told that Lucas Transmission Fix works wonders, does anyone have any experience with this product. Is there any extra precautions I should take? The car is drivable... so I was hoping maybe I just need a flush or something

Any recommendations are greatly appreciated.. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with the Lucas line of Chemical products. From my experience (however) with Lucas Electrical components (selling Automotive Bits for Collectable Brit Cars), I'd half expect their "Trans Fix" to explode for no reason what-so-ever.

It would be worth the expense to have it power flushed, on the presumption it might be a sticking spool valve.

Yeah, I'll try that first...

Any idea what it could be at worst case scenario?!
I should also mention that the throtle seems a lot easier now.. the gas pedal is very light and easy to push. I read somewhere that it is possible that it's a secondary throtle cable??

Sorry, had to take care of my 'real' life for a few minutes there. There is a secondary cable on some series Honda Transmissions (Pre-Electronic Shift). It is what as refered to as a throttle valve or "downshift" cable. Connected tp the T/B, it operates the throttle Vavle in the trans.
It would effect all gear ranges however, but should be addressed as well

Edited for spelling. None of that "Spell Checker wasn't Working" crap here!!

So I've been driving the car to work, and I just don't understand why the pedal is now so sensitive?!

is there a logical explaination for this?

So it turns out its a cable that controls clutch presure. I think it's called a "Secondary Throttle Cable" .. anywayz it snapped

Apparently it kicks in once you hit the higher gears and adds additional presure for the clutch to grip..

This would explain the gears slipping as well as the accellerator pedal being so sensative.

Thanks guys.. hope this helps someone in the future
