Default B16a opinions

searching for this would not be as good as hearing it from you guys who actually have a b16a in your ef. what would you guys say.....is it worth the money, good engine swap, basically is it worth it? i just want your opinions as i decide what i want to do with my ef, i might sell it or i might swap it but i want to know which options is the best and if it is worth it.
thanks in advance..........

b16a is of course the easiest to swap with the exception of a D-series motor.

Your going to need to convert your harness to MPFI and do a little bit of handy work. There is one piece that needs to be replace for any B-series swap and I forget what that is. Your also going to need mounts and linkages.

After its swapped I'd say its completely worth it. More HP and potential then any D-series, and its technically an OEM swap. More parts are available for B16as then alot others. For that matter you might consider a GSR swap but thats alot more work. Don't sell the EF! On a side note: consider rust, chassis rattle, and emmisions.

if you choose to go b16. get the integra xsi. the siR i had sucked compare to the xsi. ive had both. same price from hmotorsonline. 599.00 plus shippng. about 200.00 more. you will need harness, linkage, axles, mounts, ecu, have to cut a hole in driver side so altenator can fit, and cut of the front motor mount off the front cross member. or you can get an aftermarket cross member.(599.00 is just the engine price).

Please make more sense. You are saying that the people who do swaps now have more info than ones who did it a year ago?

Use your search option, please...

i just got my b16 w/ y1 tranny from hmo, in retrospect i wish i would've got the b20. thats just becuase its hard to get my crx to pull past 90 or 100. horsepower is only 15 less but you get 20ftlbs of torque. and i could've got the engine for 300 less than the b16 from a salvage yard here rather than having it frieghted from cali. plus you can always add a vtec head for cheap.
but with that put aside i like the b16a alot better than the d16a6. better gear ratios, higher rpms and pulls like hell up to about 80. i'm hoping i can get it moving better once i get that restricted stock exhaust off. hope it helps.

Thats odd, my hatch isn't all that great in 1st or 2nd, but 3rd and 4th pull like a raped ape, way passed 100. If I could have done it all over again, I wouldn't have bought the b16..it just isn't worth it. You would have way more fun/more usable power cheaper with a turbo d16/ b20, b18a. But, It is still bun with the b16 otherwise.
