engine shuts off and starts up again...and shuts off again.
i've posted this in the tech section yet i thought maybe a fellow teggy driver can help me out here.
it's a 94 gsr. with little mods here and there.
anyways, two nights ago going about 75mph on the 5, the engine just shuts off...
immediately, i just have a solid cel on...and soon i get rest of the lights on as to let me know that i'm in acc mode (or that the engine is completely off).
i pulled over to the side, popped the hood, check oil, see if anything smells...nothing. no leaks or drops under the car.
i get in the car, i turn the key to try to start the engine again. after about 2~3 times of doing it, the engine starts. i go home with no drama.
yesterday morning going to work, the engine shut off about 3~4 times. and the funny thing is every time it dies, i just wait a little and turn the key and the engine starts again. what can be the problem???
when i checked yesterday, the sparkplug holes were about filled with engine oil, so assuming that i have a gasket or a seal problem, i've already changed both.
the engine cranks fine, battery is fine. fuel pump is fine as well.
i thought it might be a vtec problem because after i've changed the gasket and the seal, i did a run and as soon as it hit 5000rpm or so, as soon as i heard the vtec, the engine shut off. yet sometimes the engine would die even in lower rpm's so i'm completely lost.
anyone have similiar problem in the past?

what do you mean the spark plug wholes where about filled. like the cylinders are filling with oil all the way up to the head? or the gaskets on the valve cover are leaking causeing oil to get around the spark plug?
the gasket and the seals are brand spanking new...i doubt they are leaking oil in to the sparkplugs...
hmmm...well check them anyways...and for future reference...dont turn ur car back on until u check ur timing belt before u turn it on...make sure its not broken or skipped/broke any teeth

sonds like the little circle rings that go around the spark plug hole are not on right. mine did the same thing when my friend didnt put them on correctly.
yea and when you DO put them on..make sure the surface is cleaned well to get any raised parts out..maybe even some gasket maker

i check it 3~4 times already. the oil isn't leaking anymore. i don't think they are the problem.
