Default Differences between B18C1 and B18C5???

I know this may be a dumb question... But besides the pistons, what is the difference between the Blocks? (GSR/Type R)

TIA

EDIT: The reason I am asking is... That when I bought my C5 block from Acura it was the same price as the GSR. I was just wondering why? And if the C5 block is the most coveted of the blocks then why the same as GSR? (especailly from the dealer) *shrugs*

No.

The block castings are identical. Main caps, girdle, and oilpan/pump/pickup are the same.

The only difference is the internals. The crank, rods, and pistons.

I'm sure you can figure that out by calling Acura.

The LS, GSR, and Type R blocks are the same price. I **** when I called and had Acura quote me a price on a new block.

And thanks for the responses guys. I knew there were differences I just didn't know what they exactly were. Thanks again guys.

The actual blocks have the same part number. The long blocks differ do to the internals.

The GSR does as well. The girdle however only covers 3 of the crank caps. The LS and B20 motor do not have a girdle. A H22A motor covers all 5 girdles. A S2000 actually has a 2 piece block (hard to explain but I would consider it a really beefy girdle). I'm sure someone can find a pic from an option magazine.

Last time I checked the head was separate from the block

And FWIW the comustion chambers are identical. B16 = ITR.
