how to tell b18c5 from a b18c1
From my understanding the b18c5 and the b18c1 are both just going to say b18c on the front left side of the block. I have searched around and found that it is the numbers in the middle of the head above the headers.? if so can someone tell me what number will be there for the type-r motor and what would be there for the b18c1 motor
um, the upside down intake manifold?? or ur thining just the block?? look the the pistons, the C1 have dished pistons, the c5 has domed.... also, the c5 has PR3 stamped on the head.... the gsr will say p72...
how aboout the red valve cover??

youre saying b18c? I'm assuming a JDM longblock!
B18c/1 -p72 stamped head 93+ I KNOW Cause i have one.
B18c/5 -PR3 stamped head 97+
bigger throttle body 65mm for c5 ! Ricky
this being major differences along with Brett's input

appreciate it all, yes I have the red type r head just wondering about the block its self, but I am going to go look at the stamp right now thanks a lot.
jdm engines did not ever have numbers stamped like usdm's b18c1 and b18c5
jdms gsr and itr engines were both stamped b18c
the itr will have a red valve cover instead of black, pr3 stamped on the head instead of p72. it will have a singe stage runner im. the gsr's im will be upside down.

Use punctuation. I was ready to refute this statement but it makes no sense.

You didn't believe me Danny? I told you to look to see if it's a pr3 or p72 head. But yeah, I think you would have to take off the head and check out the pistons to see what block you have. That is, assuming the guy you bought it from didn't swap those out for aftermarkets pistons.
hey listen you skank I went to your house and you werent there! cuase I couldnt see the stamps. or where they were located but I found it. it is the p72 stamp with the red cover!
