J&S Ultra Safeguard:



"Using a single knock sensor, the system detects the onset of detonation and retards the timing on a per cylinder basis." From the J&S website (http://www.jandssafeguard.com/safeguard.html).

The J&S unit monitors throttle position, rpm, vtec engagement, map sensor, and knock sensor. When the unit detects knock, at any RPM unlike most stock ECU's, it can retard your car's timing by 10 or 20 degrees, on a per cylinder basis or all at cylinders at once. The unit can save your engine from seeing a premature death. Installation and setup instructions can be found on the above link for the J&S website.

Also, I paid $130 for a knock monitor; but I am willing to let go of it for $***. The knock monitor uses a series of LED's to display the amount of knock detected. The monitor also has an auto dimming feature which brightens up the LED's during the day for better visibility.
