sometimes it will just crank than i will crank it again and it will start and die like 4 seconds later do the same thing 2 or 3 times and than it will start and run fine... other times it will crank maybe 2 times and start right up other times it will crank 4or 5 times than start

does this sound like a fuel pump problem or does this sound like an electrical problem?

p.s. sometime if it starts up and i go to give it gas right away it will die

 

sounds like main relay, could be a problem with a bad grotund or dizzy though too.

search main relay.

 

I'm not 100% sure but I know our cars are known to have fuel pump problems....so maybe thats the problem

 

most of the time its the main relay to the pump, not the pump itself. it seems like the pump is bad because the relay isnt telling it to turn on and start pumping.

 

do you know where the fuel pump relay is ?

i just bought a used dizzy from a kid i know that had a bad coil in it... i replaced the coil and it seemed to be working perfectly
