Is this a fuel pump problem?
Recently my car stopped and when I try to start it, it sounds like it wants to crank but it does not. So then I turn the key one time in that mid position to turn on the radio but do not start the car to see if I can hear an electrical hum coming from the rear and I do not.
So does that mean the pump is bad?
I have a 92 civic dx 4 door d15 non v tec engine

Check to see if there is power at the fuel pump when you turn the key to on (II), if there is the pump is bad, if not something else is the problem. Most likely though the main relay is bad. I can't say i've ever seen a fuel pump go bad in a 5th or 6th gen civic.

The hum is pretty quiet, and it only does it long enough to prime (unless the car is running), doesn't keep the humming sound going very long like maybe 2 seconds. I second the main relay idea, never had any problems with the fuel pump itself

if i remember correctly the main relay is under the drives side dash, not positive its been awhile since i worked on one of these,if im wrong please correct me. take it out and test it with a volt meter if its good replace it and your problem is somewhere else if its not good buy a new one and replace.
