It's only a mask for the real problem. It won't "cure" it. Give it a little longer though and it may start to help a bit more.

yeah, it took about 200 miles to start working for me. It may only mask the problem, but it does buy you more time.

i'm curious... does this actually work that well? i'm kind of thinking of switching from the honda MTF to this.

if your tranny grinds everytime you put it into a certain gear(s), then it may be a good idea. if you have a healthy tranny, just run honda mtf.

What kind of Synchromesh did you buy? Was it the $15 GM Friction Modified? Because if it's just the standard stuff, it's basically the same as Honda MTF.

But there are two kinds of SynchroMesh. The standard, and friction modified. That fluid may be better than the standard fluid, but won't do anything for your grind.

Either way, it's just a band-aid solution. Eventually you'll have to get the tranny fixed.

I just put the GM Friction-modified in mine about 200 miles ago. It definitely helped my third gear grind. It only would grind if I would shift quickly or at higher rpms. Now it only does it at reallllly high rpms.

I'm just going to stay out of redline until I can get a new tranny later on.
