Default b16a to b16b?

hey everyone, im new to this forum and im also very new to hondas and tuning them as well. im interested in buying a 99-00 civic si. i was wondering if its possible to build a b16a to run like a b16b. what would i need for the build? head, cams, higher compression pistons, etc? would it even be worth it or should i just save for a b16b or b18c swap? thnx

a cheap way to get a b16b feel would be to get a b16a, put in the CTR(b16b) cams, valvesprings, complete intake manifold and a nice exhaust with header. it would save you a couple thousand dollars you can have much more power for less money by doing just a little extra work.

i did that b16a setup before and it pulled up to 9krpms and ran 13.7 @102 in an EF hatch.

A true B16B is nothing but a de-stroked B18C. If you have the money, just get the B18C block, and run all CTR parts(piston, cams, im, etc). It's what's called a "poor man's type r". B16a's scream on CTR cams

I am about to boost my civic and want to uprate some of the internals. I too run a B16a.
When you say CTR cams. Which CTR do you mean? i know its a stupid question but the only CTR we have here is the new shape one, I think it has the k series engine?

Or can you put any ctr cams?

and where can you find these parts? i take it they are used parts yes?

You would need 98-00 Civic Type R head parts. These CTR's came with the B-Series motors. Check JHPUSA.COM or even JDMSHIT.COM should have some stuff for ya
