Default Idle? Not for me...

So Ive been having a problem missing fourth. So I said to myself, dont miss this time, and what did I do? Slammed it into 2nd . Well now my car wont idle. Its running fine just wont idle at all. I dont know if there is supposed to be slack in the throtle cable but there is a lot of play in it. Any ideas on what is causing this other than a horrible misshift.

Well adjust the throttle cable, that might be your answer, and i've gone from third to second too, but my car still ran fine.

Adjusted the cable. Now it idles but its not smooth idle. Then when it comes back down from a short rev it dies. CEL isnt on so I dont think its a sensor or anything.

Yea I do believe that is my problem. aw8e9;tyas;dg. Alright. So is this an easy job, as in a weekend or so in the garage with the engine still in the car? Or do I need to take it to the stealership? Also should I just get the Honda valves or do they make after market ones?

Check your compression/leakdown to verify bent valves. It is a fairly major procedure to replace them. There are aftermarket valves available.

Did you miss a shift from 3rd to 4th?
If so, don't hold the shifter like a joystick - do nto force it.
Just nudge the shifter into the next gear.

Alright I got a CEL today I got a (72) Misfire Dection. This would probably be the cause of a bad valve. eh? Does anyone think my engine is toast or will it cost over 1000 bucks in labor/parts. Thanks for the input so far.

Yea you bent your valves. Gonna cost you a sh*tload unless you know how to do the work yourself. Anyways maybe this 1000 dollar lesson will teach you how to shift or to stop shifting like a madman. Sorry this happened and good luck to you.

Yea it diffently has, the reason for the misshift was because I wanted so bad not to miss 4th and GRABED that stick and threw it down hard. So the valves in cylinder 2 only are bent or could other ones also be screwed?
