90 GS eating ignitors
I'm trying to help a friend with her 90 GS Teg. I replaced the ignitor about 6 weeks ago, and the new one is bad again. Both of them did the same thing, the plug part where it connects to the dizzy cap seems to have melted, it's covered in corrosion and ash. The cap and rotor were replaced in June. I've checked all the main grounds, but everything seems to be fine. What's going on? The ignitor was replaced for free, but I don't want to throw it back in and get her stuck somewhere when it dies again.
No, I didn't know it had one, but the old one was exactly the same as the new one. Maybe the mechanic that originally did it didn't install it? Can you show me a pic of the thing?

Part #9.
Make sure to put a THIN, EVEN layer of thermal compound (arctic silver works pretty good, it's made for computer processors) on the bottom of the heatsink.
I just replaced the coil pack (#14). While I was getting the new part at advance, I looked at a new dizzy cap, the prong that plugs into it seemed to be longer than the one on the car. The one on it is black, the one at advance was brown. Could it be that the prong is too short and it's arcing?
