Getting ready for paint..roof seal removal

My question pertains to these 2 rubber strips that runs on each side of the roof. How are these attached to the roof and, more importantly removed without damage so they can be reinstalled?

Pull up on them. There are little tabs that go under the weather stripping on the front and rear, I believe.
