Well to start off my brother car is a '93 civic LX. yesterday as he was driving it to school the car just died on him. He brought it back home I see what he was saying. The car starts fine at first but when I step on the gas pedal, it accelerates but then boggs out a few seconds later. Second time I try to start it, it takes a few seconds to start but I notice that the gauge cluster dims slightly on and off while im cranking. The car has enough gas and isnt throwing any codes. Any help would be appreciated.

 

its a bone stock engine also.

 

Check the spark plugs and wires ? First and foremost.

 

The spark plugs were good and all cylinders had spark. I was ohming out the plug wires and this is what I got.
cyl#1- 1.269 K ohms
cyl#2- 1.500 K ohms
cyl#3- 2.873 K ohms
cyl#4- 1.163 K ohms

I dont know the specs for how much resistance the plus wires are suppose to have?

 

I'm not sure what the resistance is supposed to be on spark plug wires.

Are you sure its getting gas? Maybe the fuel filter is partially clogged and needs replaced.

 

isnt syl 3 way off the others?
