Default Heater not blowing enough Heat ???

My Heater in my 88 Hatch doesnt seem to blow enough heat....its more of a luke warm.

This is an issue to me, because my windows wont defog.....mainly the drivers window, and with a climate that rains 80% of the time, its definatly an issue.

My 89 Hatch blows just fine, and defogs quite a bit better.

Now all the cables are attached to the heater motor, and the hoses entering the heater core, and leaving the core, are Both hot/warm.

What else could be the issue ? A thermostat should be the issue should it ? The temp gauge is half way up the meter.

Thanks

Brad

I'd check for a coolant leak. I had this happen to me in my CRX. I gradually lost heat over several days because less and less coolant was passing through the heater core. This also meant less coolant to cool the engine, resulting in overheating. I also blew my headgasket. Now my car sits awaiting either a headgasket change or a complete engine swap.

well...I know its not leaking coolent, because there would be this mysterious green liquid running from my car......and I just built my engine, and its got new seals top to bottom, new hoses front to back, and a fresh radiator.

Check that heater valve under the hood..And behind the center console there is a little white arm,,Sometimes it gets loose and you have to re adjust it,, ..
