which wire is the tach wire on z6 distributor?

im hooking up my remote start soon but im not sure which wire is the tach signal wire on the dist. is it the blue?

Yes, tach lead is always the blue wire.

why go all the way to the distributor ? tach is on the rear of the drivers strut tower, blue wire in a small plug by itself with a rubber cap. ( tach test connector)

there should be a wire behind the factory cluster also
