Default B16 power capabilities?

I have a B16a2 from a 2000 si in my 92 hatch.

I am also running a drag gen 3 kit, custom 2 1/2 inch exhaust, AEBS manifold, 255lph in tank pump, stock motor and i just bought some dsm 450s. My question is this?

With that setup, is 300 whp an attainable goal using a SAFC and the 450s?

I had the car dynod at 215 at the wheels at 7 psi and im thinkin about 12 psi on my motor should be a reasonable boost level.

Any input on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

no, 450s max out around 290-300 CRANK hp... and you would want to use a VAFC on a vtec motor... but i wouldnt run either one, its a **** *** short cut of a method for fuel management... just get uberdata or something

I made 320whp B16A Drag Gen 3 kit with 370cc injectors, 8:1 FMU and Field's VTEC/Fuel Controller Old school and not the best way but can be done

i have been running with the safc for the past 3 years now and havent had one problem with it and ive put over 45k on this setup the way it is right now. As for vafc, all that can do extra is adjust vtec for me and im happy with the 5700 engagement.

so with the 450s, and the afc i should be able to push 300 whp? im getting rid of the fmu

"12 psi" should not be your goal. Instead, You should have a WHP goal and I'd say that a stock B16 can support 350whp safley and reliabley if tuned properly. With proper tuning stock longblocks can go much further than people would like to believe. Goodluck.

NO, its not. The 450's probably wont cut it and it will run crappy at idle (and through out the rest of the powerband too) with the hack.

With 45k on this setup you already have. I would say you should bust out the compression tester before anything else.

No. You have no timing control and you'll detonate then break ring lands, throw a rod, or both. Get a real management system if you plan on testing the limits of the motor, otherwise keep what you have and enjoy the power level your at.

Listen to the man, the **** happened to me before I knew any better the pistons showed no sign of detonation, but the ringlands broke to hell and the piston skirts were all marked up. Get rid of the afc and get crome. As for the injectors, you can go to http://www.rceng.com and they have a calculator you can use to figure out the max hp for any injector. Also, if you don't have a high volume fuel pump, get one. GL.
