I ask because I seem to have found that the SOHC VTEC (D16z6 in particular) clutch seems to come apart between 100k and 150k. The last one that I took care of that this happened to, the spring came out of the clutch disc and caused all kinds of funny ****- like the car would be 'in gear' even though the clutch was depressed. It wasn't too hard to change and it didn'd cause any other damage. Another one I had did about the same thing at around 130k. Any of you guys out there have this happen?
Just wondering how common this is since I'm driving my 95 D16Z6 @ 141k to New Mexico in May and I'd rather not have any serious mechanical f-ups on the way.

I've had 140K on two stock clutches now, and both didn't go out before I sold the car. I still own the second one, let's see if it breaks before I upgrade it.

 

i blew a clutch up at 138k with nitrous. and had an ACT go out after 50k-60k or so.

 

I got about 120k out of mine. It still had life left too, but I was going turbo and got a great deal on an Exedy.
