20k Tune-Up...worth the money or DIY?
I'm thinking that the 20k maintenance that is outlined in the owner's manual isn't worth it. It basically is inspecting everything and doing an oil change. I know the dealership will charge a lot.
Is this a maintenance I can skip (other than changing the oil)?

i would only go to the dealership if you dont have the time or work space to do it at your house. you can call the dealership and theyll tell you everything that will be done on that tune up and then you can go home and do it all yourself thats what i do and i work at a dealership.

edit: if you want it to show up on a carfax or any puplic records if you sell the car later saying that the work was done then you need to go to a dealership.

How much is it at the dealership? Ask that, then ask yourself if it's worth it in the long run for resale value. "Everything professionally maintained with receipts." etc...
They wanted to do a 10k service on ep3 last month. 10k service!!!!! At 10k is a Honda even broken in yet??? I guess I am saying the 20k must also be worthless. Change your oil every 5k, rotate your tires, change your brake fluid every two years and wiper blades, brakes and tires as needed. If you do this you should be good to 100k.

Everything that they check is listed in the owner's manual.
If you're comfortable with replacing that stuff if necessary, do it yourself.

i work for Honda...10 k aint **** neways...
you can do it urself...the only benefit ud get going from a dealer is more credibility if u try to sell it to the next person....
the service is not much....just helps in building value in your car..

I disagree with the other posters here. Getting your car serviced at the dealership will greatly increase your car's performance: by lightening your wallet so much, your car will be much faster.
Besides, won't you feel good knowing that all the profit from that $250 oil change will go to a good cause, like the dealership owner's new yacht?

If you're concerned with resale then go to the dealership.
If you're concerned with your money, then do it yourself. That's if you KNOW how to PROPERLY inspect your own vehicle.
