Default h22 alternator able to handle larger dry cell battery?

I am currently in the process of an engine swap. I am considering relocating the battery to the trunk. But, I would like to get one that is larger than the stock one, and also one that is a dry cell. I will also be running subs off this battery. My question is, will the alternator on a h22 be able to handle a larger battery with out going out on me a couple of months later? Or is there another larger alternator out there I could put on?

Going with a larger batterey wont put a significantly larger load on the alternator if thats all you add. Adding a big *** amp to drive subs is going to add the load. Why do you want to use a dry cell?

i figured it would be safer to use especially if it is going in the trunk. i heard that dry cells are better for systems, but if anyone knows the true about them i would appriciate that. will all it take is a big *** power cap. to hold the battery charge?

If the only reason you wanted to put the batt. in the back was for the audio system then don't bother, just put the biggest one you can in the stock location, there are a few good batt. out there that will fit the stock location in your Honda, some "wet" some "dry".

Depending on the size of the amp/s you are installing, [if thats what you want to do] a cap will work just fine, unless you plan on running the system a long time without the motor running, [then more and/or bigger batt. are needed, [RC, reserve capacity] and although it can't hurt to install a "bigger" alt., [even if you didn't need it] if you are running 500W rms or less IMO you do not need one, 501 to 1000W rms, maybe, over 1000W rms definitely. 94

I was running an Orion 2500D with 0 guage setup. I was giving my two ID max 1000 watt each.

I burned the Alternator in a number of days. Upgrade the alternator or battery. Right now I have a 220amp alternator in the Civic no problems yets. I got it test at autozone it was around 180 amps. I think at idle it was 90amps.
