Now its in my 2000 civic coupe ex the wireharness i was given and computer came from japan so the wire harness didnt fit becouse everything was on the wrong side. so i was told that u could use the ex wireharness as of right now its only running cuz i had to re wire the distributor and im using my ex computer car dies at 5000 rpm. now i was thinking about just getting get a 2000 civic si wire harness but since its a jdm motor will there still be a difference?? any help would be great thanx!!

I'm using my 92 VX harness and JDM ECU with my B16. No reason you can't, I believe the plugs for the ECU are the same. you might need a jumper harness thou. Have you tried using the JDM ECU yet?

reuse your ex harness. and just adapt it to the motor. For the ecu you have a few options here. You can get a OBD2b to OBD2a ECU Conversion Harness(if this is truely an sir 2 as you say and use the jdm ecu they gave you). Or you can just do an obd 1 conversion http://rywire.com/store/produc...6e751 which is way better. But if you do an obd 1 conversion you need a chipped p28 or a p30 obd 1 ecu.

ok well today i tried using the jdm wire harness and when i got to the ecu there was an extra plug from the car i tried switching them all around and car still wouldnt start. the problem with me using the ex harness is that the block of the motor dosent have the crank sensor by the timing belt so the check engine light stays on plus with the ex computer the jdm harness dont fit and it dies at 5000 rpm. i tried using my friends si computer with the ex harness and it went up to 6000 then died so now im stuck... the ex harness is obd1 for the distributor and the jdm one is obd2 so 2morrow im gunna have to try and figure somthing else out im gunna see if i could some how add the crank sensor from my old block!! has anybody ever done this??
