i turned my car to let it run for about 4-5 mins and my tank went from 1/2 tank to 1/4 tank? why is this?

 

How far does it drive on a tank? My car drops a lot quicker under 3/4 tank, and also, when I turn on the car the needle always drops immediately. What engine/car is it? CEL codes? Obvious problems?

 

its a 90 civic std, i dont drive it, i just filled it with gas and then turned it on and it dropped so fast. maybe spark plugs?

 

Is it running like crap? STD shouldn't eat gas that quickly. Mehbe the needle was at the wrong place when you turned it off or something.

 

yeah its running not so smooth, i know that my timing is off by a bit but can that be a possible reason?

 

When I first did my DOHC ZC swap and ran without a map or crank angle sensor I got 83 miles on my first full tank of 93 octane. Made me sad because there's only one station in town that sells 93 and its a long ways so it was like a waste .

Do you have a CEL lit up on your dash?
Anything smell like gas - maybe buseted fuel line?

 

probably the way it was parked.. i know mine will be at a certain spot and when i park on my inclined driveway it'll drop/rise about a 1/4 depending if i face in or out the driveway...
