a good shop would grind down as much of the welds as possible and fix up the holes where the moldings go.
my buddie had done it to his car and fixed it up after a few years

If you bought new rear quarters, the cost of installing those would probably cost more than just grinding out the filler panels.

They're both equal. Its all about how much time and/or money you wanna spend to get them back. I personally believe that new 1/4s would cost alot more due to more paint. I dunno. good luck.
its not the same, get new quaters. because if they shaved them correctly the piece is fully welded and you will spend so much time/money trying to get the moldings straight and smooth. and replacing quaters is daily stuff for any good body shop
For some reason I believe buying new 1/4s would be more work. Think about it. Grinding down a 2 foot weld would be more efficient than cutting and welding in a new 1/4. And if you buy a new or used 1/4, it may not fit to your car perfectly. Just pull off the paint, grind down the welds, and put your molding back on. Easy!
And Built 562, what do you mean by getting the modlings straigt? The snap holes for the moldings should still be there. so getting the molding straight is not an issue. And any body shop should know how to grind the welds down without any damage.

Well it not ike i will be putting molding back on the car. But i want that mold imprint that i had. Like how cx hatches came with the molding imprint and not the molding it self that what i want. So would it still be easier just grinding her down or buy new 1/4 panels??
