Default Bottom Of Door RUST

When I was involved in a small accident 3 years ago, my drivers door was reskinned. I knew that couldn't be good, and obviously the bottom seam is now starting to rust. Dangit. It's starting to bubble up the paint 1/2" up from the entire length of the door.

The work was done under State Farm's Select service and they want nothing to do with honoring their "lifetime" warranty. Hello geico!

I'm assuming that really the only way to fix this is to buy a new or salvaged door, but is there anything I can do to buy some time that has worked for you?

I would argue tooth and nail to get them to pay for it, then buy a door to swap with the money, then leave and go to another company

Not sure where you are but they're to a point where they're starting to rust there anyway, particularly sedans. Coupes and hatchbacks tend to stay good on the bottom and rust behind the mirrors.

Buy another door, they're usually pretty cheap and get it painted to match.

Insurance for the most part is just a scam. Having worked for a health insurance company it's really sickening. They will welcome you with open arms and suck every dollar you want to feed them, then when it's time to really pay out they [for the most part] they will screw you hard.
