d15b7 distributor on a d16y8 head?

i'm putting a d16y5 head on my d15b7 block and i have heard that the d16y* heads use the same bolt pattern as the d15b* and d16a6 distributors

basically, can i use my d15b7 distributor on my d16y5 head going into my obd1 car?

no, the splines arent right...what you can do is take all the internals out of the d15b7 distributor and put them into the y8 distributor

so it seems that my best bet would be to buy a d16y5 distributor and rewire it for obd1?

just take all the insides out of the b7 and put them inside the one your using
