a/c and heating
I have a 93 ex 1.6 vtec sohc and my fan does not come on and my a/c is not blowing out cold air and my heater is not working the lights on hte a/c panel do nit come on either what do you suggest the problem is?
First things first. The nonfunctional heater is the first concern there. Check the antifreeze level, radiator cap, all cooling system components. Make sure that when the engine hits operating temp that both hoses to and from the heater core get hot. If they do, the problem lies in the climate control system.
As for the A/C not blowing cold...it's not gonna blow cold in the winter. Turn it on and look to see if the compressor clutch is engaged...if it is, the A/C system is prolly fine and will work come summer. If it's not, you're probably low on freon. I'd worry about the A/c when the season for it comes around, not now. Get the other stuff fixed first.
Lights on the A/C panel could be a bad fuse or burnt-out bulbs. A bad fuse may be the cause of other stuff not working as well, so check those.
When you say your fan does not come on, are you referring to the cooling fan or the blower fan?

I found this thread on a search. I don't have a helms or service manual to figure out my problem. It sounds a bit like bstdeg's.
My HVAC controls light up and I can hear the controls operating the vents (circ and direction being feet, chest or windshield).
Now my fan motor controls do not work. The previous owner hard wired a control to the blower so he could have heat.
On other cars my resistor has gone and only gave me the option of full speed. Now this car doesn't have any speeds. Do you have a suggestion on what I can check before I have my reference materials?
Also would a chilton's cover this? I could run down to pepboys and get one quicker than the helms.
Thanks.

Hey this very similar to a problem I adressed on another thread:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1505296
give it a shot. Everythig works great for me now. p.s.- my a/c light wasn't on before, but does turn on now!
