Cranking the starter motor
What can cause starting the motor to lag? Like turning the ignition to get the start motor on it takes a while, like 2-10 seconds sometimes, sometimes it doesnt even start. Only thing i can think of a is a bad ground which i will check when i get home. but for now, what else can be the problem?
ingnition switch a little screwy. Bad gound or hot lead. Battery a little dead, starting starting to die. The possibilities are almost endless.

You have a bunch of cables that lead from the negative post of you battery to different parts of your chassis, transmition and engine. These are refered to as "grounds"
You also have a big cable leading from your positive post of your battery to your starter. That is what I was refering to as your main hot lead (I am sure there is a much better term for it). A lot of amps go through that cable, it needs to be in good condition as well as the connection points of that cable.

Not that I know of, unless it was drawing a lot of power (not likely). Maybe when whoever hooked it up spliced to some power he/she thinned out a connection from the battery.
I am by no means an alarm expert.
