B16-at full stop, rpm drops below 500- normal?
I'm running a B16 in my crx. I did the swap over the summer and it was running fine until just the other day. For some reason, when I come to a full stop, my RPM drops all the way below 500 RPM (car rattles like it's gonna die) then it goes back up to 500-750 RPM. I never paid much attention to the RPM drop until the other day when this started happening. I thought it was caused by the fuel injector.
Is this normal? Maybe just a glitch then it'll go away? At a full stop, should the RPM be between 500 & 1000 RPM? Will turning the distributor help? Is it the fuel? Currenly, my brokeass is running 87 grade gas. Should I be running 91 oct? Is this an ECU problem? Somebody tell me why this is happening.

i seem to have tis SMALL problem also but never bothered me to much. i think my iacv is on its way out
but i cant b to sure.... also running 87-89 octane is not good for a b16. it is a performance motor and REQUIRES 91 or above. but that should have verry little to do with your problem you have now. until you Possibly blow your motor from your low octane. now if you retarded your timing befor you went with the lower octane you might be ok. but as for your problem id just check your iacv first.......

I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that this could be adjusted....how's it done?

if you stand at the passenger side of the engine bay you will see a screw at the top of the throttle body. screw it in to lower it and screw it out to raise it.

Ahh...thats just the idle contol. I thought you were saying to could adjust the IACV.

the iacv is on the back on the intake manifold, i think there are 2 bolts holding it on a plug, and a hose. pop it off, spray the **** outta the inside of it with carb cleaner and put it back on when its dry.
