Default Subject: Oil leak; Reason for post: Need help!

I just located the sorce of my oil leak. It is were the head meets the block. I have a 1st Gen B16A1 in a 94 Civic DX. The head was taken off before the motor was put in to replace the pistons and inspect. Could there be any other possible problem that needs to be taken care of when the head is off again? I just hope this is the last time I have to do this, so I would like to know everything I should look for. Also, is there any way to tell if the block is worped? I just want to know what you guys know. Please help a fellow import fan out.

was the block rehoned/machined to fit the new pistons?
did they just install the pistons without rebuilding the block?

I was told what he did was the equal to the honing, but all he really did was take out the old pistons, put new pistons, rods, and rings in the block.

When putting a head gasket on, should I put some sort of sealant? If so, what and where?

How hard is it to take off the head once it is in the car?

It's pretty easy to take the head off the block even with the engine still in; the only pain in the a$$ part is taking the intake manifold off w/ the head still intact. If I were you, I'd get the block and head resurfaced to ensure both mating surface will be straight when installing the new headgasket. Hth

When installing the new headgasket, use some cooper-spray sealer (pepboys, autozone, etc...) before installing the gasket on both sides. Then install it, thats what I did w/ my B18C1, so far, no probs.
