Default D16a6 rebuild for turbo setup questions *searched*

did a quick search on this.. didnt find anything really exciting... i'm gonna be rebuilding my spare a6 soon.. 95% sure it will be for a junkyard turbo setup.. what are some things that would be good and relatively inexpensive to upgrade to make it a little more of a solid setup? (other than the obvious rings/headgasket/etc) i have some ideas already.. just wondering what you guys think.. i'm hopin someone mentions something i have missed... or would it be fine for turbo with just a 100% stock rebuild?

keyword here is inexpensive.. i'm willing to spend a little more on the important parts.. but i mean lets face it.. i bought a '90 sedan cuz i'm a poor college kid.. haha

thanks!

then again 5-7 psi is good on a stock motor, just get the arp head studs. just make sure to get a good tune.

^ true but boost is addictive and there is something to be said for the added confidence you get running forged rods and pistons.

I found a good used set of je pistons for $200 shipped, and found a good deal on a set of eagle rods for about $200. Its great knowing im not going to be breaking ringlands anytime soon
